Party Wall Agreement Letter
Dear [Neighbour’s Name],
I am writing to inform you that I am planning to carry out some construction work on my property which will affect the party wall that we share. In accordance with the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, I would like to propose that we enter into a Party Wall Agreement to set out the rights and responsibilities of both parties.
The work that I am planning to carry out includes [insert details of the work]. I understand that this work will affect the party wall that we share and that it is necessary to provide you with notice and to obtain your consent before proceeding.
As part of the Party Wall Agreement, I propose that we appoint a Party Wall Surveyor to act on behalf of both parties. The surveyor will be responsible for ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with the Party Wall Agreement and for resolving any disputes that may arise.
I would be grateful if you could let me know whether you agree to enter into a Party Wall Agreement and appoint a Party Wall Surveyor. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
[Your Name]
